Under the UL AWM (UL 758) standard, PVC insulated and nylon sheathed wires are mainly concentrated in the following core models, distinguished by voltage, temperature, and oil/gasoline resistance characteristics. The following is a complete list:

Core UL AWM model (PVC insulation+nylon sheath)

AWM 1316 (most commonly used, oil/gasoline resistant)

Structure: PVC insulation+nylon sheath
Rated: 600V, 105℃
Oil resistance: Suitable for medium and gasoline environments at 60℃
Specification: 26AWG~12AWG (solid/stranded, bare copper/tin plated copper)
Certification: VW-1, FT1 flame retardant
Usage: Internal wiring of equipment, machine tools, oil resistant applications

AWM 1452 (High Voltage Type)

Structure: PVC insulation+nylon sheath
Rated: 1000V, 90℃
Oil resistance: 60℃ oil, gasoline resistant
Specification: 26AWG~12AWG
Purpose: Internal wiring of high-voltage equipment

AWM 1452
AWM 1317

AWM 1317/1318/1319/1320/1321 (derived from the same series)

All are PVC insulation+nylon sheath, mainly fine tuned in terms of temperature resistance, oil resistance level, and voltage
Common: 600V/105℃, oil/gasoline resistant, VW-1 flame retardant
Mostly used for internal wiring of machine tools and industrial equipment

AWM 1009/1012 (small specification nylon sheathed wire)

Structure: PVC insulation+nylon sheath
Rated: 600V, 90℃ (1009), 80℃ (1012)
Specification: 18AWG~16AWG (small wire gauge)
Usage: Fine wiring inside electronic devices and instruments

Association with UL 83 building lines (commonly used for export/mixed use)

1.UL AWM is often compatible with UL 83 building lines (THHN/THWN-2/MTW), with the same structure (PVC+nylon), and can be used according to AWM certification:
2.THHN:600V, 90℃ (dry), PVC+nylon
3.THWN‑2:600V, 90℃ (dry and wet), PVC+nylon
4.MTW:600V, 105℃ (dry)/75℃ (in oil), PVC+nylon (machine tool line)
5.TFN/TFFN: 18-16AWG, 600V, 90℃, PVC+nylon (small size)

Comparison of Model Parameters (Core Selection Table)

AWM Voltage Temperature Oil/Gasoline Resistant Flame Retardant Common Wire Gauge Core Purpose
1316 600V 105℃ 60℃ oil/gasoline VW‑1 26–12AWG Equipment, machine tools, oil resistant wiring
1452 1000V 90℃ 60℃ oil/gasoline VW‑1 26–12AWG Internal High Voltage Equipment
1317-1321 600V 105℃ oil/gasoline VW‑1 26–12AWG Industrial equipment, machine tools
1009 600V 90℃ 18–16AWG Fine wiring for electronic instruments
1012 600V 80℃ 18–16AWG Fine wiring for electronic instruments
