Wire and cable consist of four parts: conductor, insulation layer, shielding layer and protective layer.
1. Conductor
The conductor is the conductive part of the wire and cable, used to transmit electric energy, and is the main part of the wire and cable.
2. Insulation layer
The insulating layer is to electrically isolate the conductor from the ground and the conductors of different phases from each other to ensure the transmission of electric energy. It is an indispensable part of the wire and cable structure.
3. Shielding layer
Wires and cables of 15KV and above generally have a conductor shielding layer and an insulating shielding layer.
4. Protective layer
The function of the protective layer is to protect the wires and cables from the intrusion of external impurities and moisture, and to prevent the power cables from being directly damaged by external forces.
