#CSA TR-64 Wire (TR64)
TR-64 is a Canadian CSA standard equipment hook up wire, PVC insulated single core wire, typically certified with UL AWM1007, and is one of the most commonly used wiring for home appliances and electronic devices in North America.

✅ Application scenario
CSA TR-64 (often appearing with UL1007/UL1569 dual standards) is essentially an Appliance Wiring Material for equipment and device internal wiring, rather than on-site cable laying. Therefore, its application scenarios almost always occur within "chassis/cabinets/equipment enclosures".
In home appliances and consumer electronics
It is widely used as a jumper between the internal power board and keypad of rice cookers, coffee machines, microwave control boards, washing machine programmers, televisions/speakers/set-top boxes, and small household appliances; These places have low voltage control or secondary side circuits, compact space, mass production, easy peeling, good weldability, and low cost. TR-64's thin-walled PVC is a perfect match.
In industrial control and switchgear
It is a "universal hook up wire" for internal wiring of PLC cabinets, relay bases, terminal blocks, contactor coils, button indicator lights, transmitters, counters, and temperature control meters: 18/22/24 AWG for signal and logic, 16 AWG for low-power control circuits; Parallel wiring in the cable tray does not take up space, and color coding is convenient for maintenance.
On the power supply and motor accessories
TR-64 can be used as a transformer lead, ballast internal wire, small motor terminal to drive board connection, instrument internal probe wire/measuring wire; If protective tubes or hoses are used inside the machine, they can also be used as equipment leads.
In communication, computers, and peripherals
It is responsible for point-to-point connections between the motherboard to the front panel, sensors to the acquisition card, LED screen module, and industrial HMI and power module; Not suitable for continuous bending of drag chains, but stable in fixed or micro motion environments.
In the North American dual certification system, engineers often choose the "UL1007 80 ℃/UL1569 105 ℃/CSA TR-64 90℃ FT1" coaxial line, a set of materials that pass both US and Canadian safety regulations, used for exporting household appliances, medical equipment low-voltage side, testing instruments, and automation control boxes.
The boundary is also clear: it is not used for mains branch circuits, outdoor direct burial, high temperature>105℃, oil bath immersion, frequent bending of drag chains, or as a flexible power cord (that is UL 62/CSA 49 cord). In short, the wiring inside the equipment, at 300V level, at room temperature to medium temperature, cheap and compliant with US and Canadian safety regulations, is the home ground of TR-64.
