UL1911 3kV Wire is a cable that meets the requirements of Underwriters Laboratories for use in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This type of cable is designed specifically for the harsh outdoor environment of photovoltaic systems, and its core characteristics far exceed ordinary wires. Can safely carry the high DC voltage generated by photovoltaic arrays. Can withstand long-term exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, extreme high and low temperatures (usually -40°C to+90°C or above), humidity, and ozone erosion. Has the ability to be flexible, tear resistant, wear-resistant, and resistant to acid and alkali corrosion. The 3kV photovoltaic cable certified by UL1911 is a key component for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of large-scale photovoltaic power plants, commercial and residential rooftop photovoltaic systems outdoors for a long time (usually requiring more than 25 years). Scenario: In a vast power plant area, the outputs of multiple strings (usually 10-20) need to be gathered at a central point. The distance from the end of the farthest string to the combiner box may be as long as 100-200 meters.
Function: UL1911 3kV Wires are used as "output lines" or "return lines" for these medium to long distances. Its high voltage level ensures that the voltage drop caused by line loss during long-distance transmission is within an acceptable range, thereby maximizing power output. UL1911 3kV Wire's excellent UV resistance, high temperature resistance (usually -40°C to+90°C or 120°C), and corrosion resistance make it suitable for direct installation outdoors (such as cable trays, direct burial, or exposure to air), withstanding decades of sun, rain, wind, sand, and extreme temperature differences.
Connect the combiner box to the DC input side of the centralized or string inverter
Scenario: The combiner box summarizes the current of multiple strings and outputs a higher total current and high-voltage DC power, which needs to be transmitted to the inverter through the main DC cable.
Function: This section of the line carries high power for the entire array partition, and the UL1911 3kV Wire serves as the "DC main cable" here. Its thick insulation and sheath design provides higher current carrying capacity, stronger mechanical protection (preventing wear and cutting during installation or maintenance), and excellent flame retardant performance, which is the core of ensuring the safety of the DC side main line of the power station.
